ITUC-TUAC Joint Statement to the OECD DAC HLM

Trade unions call on donor countries to put the fight against poverty and inequalities at the centre of its policies ahead of the OECD Development Assistance Committee’s High-Level Meeting (OECD DAC HLM) on 15 November 2023.

Trade unions urge DAC members to:

  • Act in favour of the implementation of a new social contract to accelerate action and progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly by supporting the UN Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions.
  • Mobilise and align financing with the SDGs and the Paris Agreement.
  • Reaffirm commitment to democratic participation and workers’ engagement through social dialogue.
