In the submission, the trade union movement calls for a New Social Contract between governments, business and workers, with a Universal Labour Guarantee that provides all workers with a protection floor. The document also takes into account how specific SDGs connect to the positions and proposals.
The document is divided in six chapters, including a chapter on recommendations, which are structured in four main pillars:
- I. Recommendations to governments
- Labour rights implementation (SDG 8 and SDG 16)
- Inclusive labour markets policies (SDG 8 and SDG 4)
- Expansive policies on wages (SDG 8 and SDG 10)
- Implementation of social protection systems (SDG 8 and SDG 10)
- Climate justice and Just Transition (SDG 8 and SDG 13)
- II. Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and the promotion of lifelong learning opportunities for all (SDG4)
- III. Decent work and private sector accountability as drivers for sustainable development (SDG8)
- IV. Address the global wage crisis (SDG 10)
- V. Just Transition is central to combat climate change and its impacts (SDG13)
- VI. Building peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, through access to justice and accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels (SDG 16)
