A trade union focus on the SDGs - Brazil

Trade unions in Brazil highlight a recent turn in national policy-making that is challenging the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals. A number of indicators, which were showing steady improvements over the longer term, are now once again in decline. Major labour law reforms are resulting in a generalisation of precarious work and significant cutbacks in public spending is likely to increase levels of poverty. Trade unions call on the current government to withdraw its reforms of the labour law and the social security system.
