The ITUC expresses its solidarity to the victims and members of their families. “The authorities must take all necessary measures to launch a full and immediate investigation into the attack and ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice. The fact that this appalling atrocity occurred in a high-security area within the airport is also particular cause for concern,” said ITUC General Secretary Sharan Burrow.

The ITUC strongly condemns the terrorist attack that hit the largest airport in Moscow this afternoon. So far, around 30 people died and more than a hundred people have been wounded in the blast, which reports suggest may have been the work of a suicide bomber. According to the information received by the ITUC, the blast occurred in the baggage reclaim area of the international arrivals hall.
