Development community embraces Decent Work at Busan Conference
Decent Work has been included in the international development effectiveness agenda for the first time, following strong representations from the international trade union movement at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, Korea this week. Concerns remain, however, about the risks arising from the way the conclusions of the Forum deal with the role of the private sector in development cooperation.
World AIDS Day Statement 2011
Today, on World AIDS Day 2011, the ITUC joins with people across the world in memory of those who have lost their lives to AIDS. Trade unions around the world will be using today as a focus to promote action on HIV and AIDS in the workplace and to call for renewed international commitment to tackle the pandemic, on the basis of shared ownership of the AIDS response.
