The first trade union conference on development cooperation of the ITUC will take place this month of October in Runö, Sweden, and is one of the major trade union events in this very busy month. Indeed, the World Day for Decent Work on 7 October will again mobilise trade unions worldwide in favour of the decent work agenda, and the ITUC International Women’s Conference will take place the third week of October. In the meanwhile, the Global Council of the ITUC meeting in
Berlin will have set the course of action in preparation of the next ITUC Congress in 2010 as well as it will have ratified the trade union positions when it comes to the overall challenges of the worldwide economic, financial and development crisis.
