Confederation of Trade Unions of Slovakia will organize these 3 main activities in Slovakia of global day of action in defence of the right to strike, which is under attack by employer groups at the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

1. Discussion with president of Confederation of Trade Unions of Slovakia

In collaboration with the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, European Dialogue Think-tank and European Press will organize discussion for public sectors, students and citizens. The discussion will focus on the current situation regarding the right to strike and the importance of its protection. Action will be supported media. The main speaker will be president of Confederation of Trade Unions of Slovakia Mr. Kollar.

2. Photo campaign with slogan "Hands off our right to strike" with chairmen and members of Trade Unions in Slovakia.

We created a banner with the slogan "Hands off our right to strike", which means in Slovak “Ruky preč od nášho práva na štrajk“, and we are photographing the chairmen and members of trade unions. Photos will gradually publish on our website, trade unions website and we will sent to the ITUC and ETUC.

3. Letter about the seriousness of the situation

President of Confederation of Trade Unions of Slovakia sent a letter about the current situation in respect of ’right to strike" to President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, to the Prime Minister, all ministers and Slovak members of parliament.
