TUDCN General Meeting Slangerup (Denmark) 17-19 April 2013 - Report

Over 40 representatives of trade unions, solidarity support organizations and global union federations gathered from 17 to 19 April 2013 in Slangerup (Denmark) to discuss the future of the Trade Union Development Cooperation Network, which is now in its third phase. The participants reflected on the results of the network’s activities over the past years and discussed the plans for engagement and potential structural adjustments; on this basis, the participants approved the advocacy strategies for the next phase of the project.
Participants also noted the results of the external evaluation of the Network led by the consultancy firm South Research. The evaluators formulated conclusions and recommendations especially concerning the participation from the South and the embedding within the ITUC.
Finally, the current and the overarching theme of the post-2015 new development framework has also been the subject of a very rewarding roundtable with speakers from ILO, DIIS of social Watch and CSI.
