The meeting included the release and brief discussion of the first draft of the HLM2 outcome document. Trade unions sent their input to this document’s zero draft in May 2016. Some improvements are visible, such as references to human rights and decent work. However, it remains a rather weak document, particularly on the role and accountability of private sector. This and other issues will be among the trade unions advocacy priorities in the run-up to the HLM2. TUDCN members can send their comments to the first draft to [email protected] and [email protected], by 1 September 2016.
