World AIDS Day - ITUC Youth for Zero HIV Discrimination in the Workplace

World AIDS Day is held on the 1st December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.

ITUC Youth Committee took the World AIDS Day as an opportunity to express support for the rights-based approach to HIV and AIDS in the world of work. On 30 November during the Committee’s meeting in Ghana young trade union activists from all over the world organized an event to discuss HIV and AIDS, gender equality and the situation of young workers on the globalized labour market. Particular ILO-related processes were also discussed, including the campaigns Getting to Zero and VCT@Work. The message was straightforward - ITUC Youth says no to any HIV-related stigmatization or discrimination in the workplace
