Building Workers' Power
ITUC Newsletter March 2019

Coming up this month – Sharan Burrow, ITUC General Secretary

The ITUC World Congress in Copenhagen gave us an ambitious mandate with four pillars to frame our strategic plans for the next four years. We will build workers’ power and we will change the rules.

Organising to build workers’ power is fundamental to success. March 8 is International Women’s Day and we get the chance to stand for economic and social equality for women and against gender-based violence.

2019 marks the 100th anniversary of the ILO. Countries are holding tripartite events and ITUC guidelines call for a new social contract with a floor of a universal labour guarantee for all workers.

Through our newsletter we will keep you informed of the national and global actions that will change the rules.
