The outcomes of the General Council will shape the ITUC’s work in 2025. Under the campaign “For Democracy that delivers”, key areas of focus will include fair taxation, climate change and Just Transition, peace and common security, and fair rules for international trade.

ITUC General Secretary Luc Triangle will attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, to emphasise that democracy, equality and workers’ rights must be central to this gathering of powerful leaders in the global political economy. He will affirm that economic growth should uplift people rather than exploit them, and investments must strengthen society rather than divide it. This is essential for rebuilding trust in institutions.
