Trade Union-DAC Forum: unions call on OECD-DAC members to move forward with a roadmap on SDG-driven recovery and resilience
 
 
Trade unions have encouraged the members of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development to rethink the focus of aid and align its financing with the Sustainable Development Goals to match the impact of Covid-19.

DAC HLM 2020: Unions call for an SDG-driven Covid-19 response with Goal 8 at its core


The Trade Union Advisory Committee and the International Trade Union Confederation participated in the High-level Meeting of the OECD Development Assistance Committee on 9-10 November. The meeting concluded with the adoption of the DAC High Level Meeting Communiqué 2020.
FACTI panels: ITUC calls for taxation reform to achieve the 2030 Agenda

Unions have contributed to the regional discussions on financial accountability, transparency and integrity. The events were organised in the frame of the High-level Regional Consultations and co-hosted by the High-Level Panel on International Financial Accountability, Transparency and Integrity for Achieving the 2030 Agenda (FACTI) and the UN regional commissions.
Reform multilateralism to achieve sustainable recovery and decent work


The ITUC commends the endorsement by development banks of long-term investments for decent work and just transition, while calling for greater dialogue with unions and more participation from the multilateral development banks.

Belgium’s trade union to improve approach of employers and policy-makers to the SDGs 


In the frame of the European Trade Union Confederation’s project “Raising awareness on SDGs amid workers and trade union leaders”, Belgium’s trade unions have decided to incorporate the International Trade Union Confederation’s global campaign #timefor8 in their national work plans.

Remarkable contribution of trade unions to the development of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2021-2025 for Somalia

The Federation of Somali Trade Unions (FESTU) has made a historic breakthrough concerning its engagement in the sustainable development of Somalia. The organisation has successfully contributed to the design of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2021-2025 for Somalia and secured the explicit mention of trade unions as key partner in the realisation of outcomes and strategic priorities of this process.
TUCA’s Secretary General underlines importance of 2030 Agenda in fight against Covid-19 crisis

Rafael Freire, the Secretary General of the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas (TUCA), delivered a video message on the centrality of the 2030 Agenda in the labour movement's work for the recovery and resilience of the region.

 Online resource  Atlas of the SDGs - edition 2020  
The World Bank has updated this online resource, which draws from the institution’s World Development Indicators and presents interactive data visualisations about the 17 SDGs. Where data is available, the Atlas also shows the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the SDGs.
