 Publication  Trade Union Organisational Capacity tool


The ITUC has produced a publication to provide guidance and a concrete overview of the steps to follow when applying the Trade Union Organisational Capacity tool, which is used to assess and monitor trade unions’ organisational capacity. This publication also includes recommendations on the best way to apply the framework of the tool.
 Publication  Trade unions’ national SDG implementation reports ready for the HLPF


Next July, 45 countries will present their Volunteer National Reviews on their progress on the SDGs to the United Nations. Out of them, 14 count with SDG-committed trade unions that have monitored how their governments have been involving trade unions in their national SDG implementation plans. The bad news is that there’s still room for improvement. The good news is that unions are ready to take up the challenge!
Trade Union-DAC Forum 2019


The 5th Trade Union–Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Forum discussed the themes of the role of private finance and social dialogue in achieving the SDGs. More specifically, the Forum dealt with such topics as Private Sector Finance, Climate Change & Transitioning beyond ODA.
Trade Unions bring workers’ voice to the 4th Follow-Up Forum on Financing for Development


Trade unions presented their position on how development should be financed to ECOSOC’s Follow-up on Forum on Financing for Development. The discussions took place amidst warnings from the OECD about the international community not doing enough to meet the financial needs to achieve the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Trade unions dialogue with EU Commission vice-president Katainen on the SDG Political Declaration and discuss centrality of SDG 8 in the labour agenda and the 2030 Agenda.
ITUC-Africa promotes decent work at the UNECA SDG Forum

A ITUC-Africa delegation participated in the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The delegation highlighted the challenges facing the world of work and bemoaned the rising of informalisation of the labour market.
TUCA participates in the Latin America and the Caribbean Forum on Sustainable Development 2019

The Trade Union Confederation of Workers of the Americas (TUCA) was part of the trade union delegation that participated in the Third Meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development. The event was held in Santiago de Chile on 22-26 April, 2019. The forum has served, among other things, to promote a dialogue among the countries on different topics related to the 2030 Agenda.
Philippine worker’s and trade unions’ report on the SDGs 2019

Trade unions in the Philippines have taken the pulse of the government’s second National Volunteer Reviewing in three years. Although Philippines’ workers and unions are enjoying a level of participation in the government’s plans on the SDGs that is higher than in other countries of the region, the situation if still far from ideal.
