Dear {{contact.firstname}},
Social dialogue must be at the centre of the transition to democratic, inclusive and sustainable societies. It is one of the strategic pillars of the International Labour Organization’s Decent Work Agenda and a key element of the organisation’s Just Transition Guidelines.
Through their work to promote and defend the decent work agenda, trade unions are making a major contribution to building a world that aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. This is why investing in SDG 17 on global partnerships to achieve the Goals is a major trade union issue! Workers are champions of the SDGs and must be involved in all sustainable development processes because, as ITUC President Akiko Gono says:
“Workers are the backbone of global efforts to save the planet.”
