Kenya: Garissa University College Attack

The ITUC has joined its Regional Organisation ITUC-Africa in expressing its outrage at the vicious attack by Al Shabaab terrorists which left more than 140 people dead and some 80 injured.

Most of the victims were students at the university college in Garissa. Security guards and police also lost their lives trying to protect the students.

“Our most heartfelt condolences go to the families of those who were killed. The victims were targeted simply because they were seeking an education. Those behind these killings, including the international backers of murderous gangs like Al Shabaab, must be brought to justice,” said ITUC General Secretary Sharan Burrow.
