A vital link in the economic chain, domestic work is undervalued and underprotected. Domestic workers, especially women migrant domestics, are exposed in their millions to the risk of exploitation and abuse reaching terrible extremes. In addition to its organising drive, the trade union movement is campaigning for a new ILO Convention: a crucial stage on the road to decent work.
