#Timefor8: the clock is ticking for a New Social Contract         Issue 11 / 2022 -  Sign Up

Dear,

Mission accomplished!

The High-Level Political Forum 2022 has ended on a high note for trade unions and workers worldwide. The centrality of SDG 8 and its leverage effect on the whole 2030 Agenda was confirmed as the decision-makers included most of workers’ demands in the Ministerial Declaration.

The voices of workers and unions were well heard during this Forum. Their many contributions to the #timefor8 campaign were fundamental to maintaining a strong online presence targeting the HLPF.

And the engagement of the eight leaders who championed the campaign themes was essential to show the deep commitment of trade unions to a new social contract centred on SDG 8 for a gender-transformative agenda!

Finally, a big thank you to the ITUC delegation to the HLPF. For a fortnight they worked intensively to ensure that trade union positions were heard by decision-makers and key stakeholders. And the results  speak volumes of their hard work!
